High-Speed Photomultiplier Tubes
The R9800, R9420 and R9779 photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) have optimal time resolution characteristics. Each features a short transit time spread uniform across the entire effective area of the photocathode. The photocathode is bialkali material with a spectral response range of 300 to 650 nm. Peak sensitivity is in the blue region of 420 nm, making these PMTs suitable for scintillation counting. Applications include radiation monitoring in security instruments. These PMTs share a simple, head-on design appropriate for mass production, but they differ in terms of size and other specifications. The supply voltage required is either 1300 V (R9800, R9420) or 1500 V (R9779).
