Photodiode Features Compact Surface Mount Package
The S9717 series of silicon (Si) avalanche photodiodes (APDs) delivers high reliability and performance in a small package. Photometric applications include rangefinders, laser radar and spatial light transmission. Covering a spectral response range of 400 nm to 1000 nm, the series achieves a photo sensitivity of 0.5 A/W and a gain of 100 at 800 nm. Available in three models, the S9717-02K offers a typical dark current of 50 pA and terminal capacitance of 1.5 pF. For the S9717-05K and S9717-05L, typical dark current is 100 pA and terminal capacitance is 3 pF. The design of the series results in no dark current increase when the models operate in high temperature/humidity. All models are small and thin, measuring 3.5 mm × 4 mm. By utilizing a surface mount package, the series achieves more reliable performance than alternatives with metal packages. Operating temperature ranges from -20 C to 85 C.
