Benchtop Tube Chiller
The Chillette insulated tube cooler is a benchtop or portable unit that fits in the palm of the user's hand. In addition to bottom and side insulation, the unit also has a large screw cover filled with liquid refrigerant. When the cover is placed in its closed position, the refrigerant is only a few millimeters above the tops of the tubes, sending cold air in its natural direction, down to the sample. After being kept in a -20 C freezer overnight, the tube cooler will keep up to twelve 1.5 mL cold samples at 0 C (or -20 C) or below for approximately 8 hours. It is leak proof, requires no ice, and won't wet tubes or labels.
