New Technique For Parallel Synthesis And Purification Of Esters - Using The Syntage KP-TsCl Chemistry Cartridge

Shahnaz Ghassemi, PhD, Senior Research Scientist Biotage has recently developed a new Cartridge-Based In-Situ ester synthesis and purification technology a using solid supported Syntage KP-TsCl™ (phenylsulfonyl chloride) cartridge plus FLASH chromatography.

In this approach, the cartridge is the reaction vessel for on-column ester synthesis from carboxylic acids, alcohols, or phenols. After synthesis, the Syntage cartridge is placed into the FLASH cartridge for purification. This new technique results in high yield and purity of the ester product in one step.
